Jeremy and his wife, Nina, were excited to return home after a relaxing vacation. However, their joy quickly turned to shock when they found that Jeremy’s older brother, Ted, had moved in without their knowledge. The living room was a disaster—beer cans were scattered, dirty clothes were everywhere, and a foul smell hung in the air. Ted was lounging on their couch, acting as if he owned the place, without a care in the world.
A Shocking Discovery
Jeremy couldn’t hide his frustration. “Why are you in my house?” he demanded, trying to keep calm while Nina rolled her eyes in disbelief.
Ted, unfazed by the chaos he had caused, shrugged and explained that their parents thought it would be easier for him to move in while Jeremy and Nina were away. “You’ve got all this space,” Ted said, “and it’s not like you’re always home.”
Family Drama Unfolds
Jeremy was stunned—not only by Ted’s audacity but by their parents’ complete lack of respect for his home. When Jeremy called his mother to find out what was going on, her response only made things worse. She defended Ted, saying, “He needed a place to stay, and you don’t have kids yet. What’s the harm?”
Trying to stay calm, Jeremy pointed out that Ted, at 42 years old, should be able to take care of himself. But his parents weren’t having it. They insisted that Jeremy should help Ted out, simply because “he’s family.”
A Plan to Get Ted Out
With Nina fed up and threatening to stay with her sister until Ted was gone, Jeremy realized he had to take action. He had one week to get Ted out, and he decided to teach his brother a lesson he’d never forget.
Jeremy’s strategy was subtle but effective. He started by disconnecting the Wi-Fi, knowing that Ted spent most of his days binge-watching TV shows. When Ted complained, Jeremy pretended to be clueless, saying, “The internet must be acting up.”
Next, Jeremy turned off the hot water, making Ted’s long, relaxing showers unbearable. Every time Ted grumbled, Jeremy casually mentioned that the plumbing must be on the fritz.
To make matters worse for Ted, Jeremy filled the fridge with only the healthiest foods—things Ted hated. There wasn’t a single greasy or fried item in sight. Each time Ted opened the fridge, he groaned, feeling as though he was being starved.
As the final touch, Jeremy started blasting music at 6 a.m. while exercising on the treadmill, making sure Ted was woken up early every day.
Ted Reaches His Breaking Point
By day five, Ted had reached his limit. “I can’t stay here anymore,” he fumed. “There’s no Wi-Fi, no hot water, and no food I like. This is torture!”
Jeremy, feigning concern, replied, “I thought you’d be grateful to stay here, Ted. After all, you’re not even paying rent.”
That was the final straw. Ted packed up his belongings and stormed out, declaring he was moving back to their parents’ house. Jeremy couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome.
A Fresh Start
With Ted gone, Jeremy cleaned up the house and prepared a nice meal for Nina. He called her to let her know the house was back to normal, and she happily agreed to come home.
Jeremy’s final task was to confront his parents. “Ted’s out of my house, and he’s not coming back,” he told them firmly. His mother was furious, but Jeremy stood his ground. “If you want to keep babying him, that’s your choice. But I’m done.”
A Tough Lesson for Ted
After leaving Jeremy’s house, Ted moved back in with their parents—but this time, they put their foot down. He was forced to turn their garage into a living space and finally get a job. Though Ted blamed Jeremy for his situation, Jeremy didn’t mind. He and Nina finally had their home—and their peace—back.
