8-Year-Old Artist Paints Jesus from a Vision, Now Shares Rediscovered Masterpiece

At just 8 years old, Akiane Kramarik created a breathtaking painting titled “Prince of Peace”, an ethereal depiction of Jesus Christ. What makes this painting even more remarkable is Akiane’s claim that it was inspired by a vision she had of Jesus. Recently, after being lost for 16 years, the painting was rediscovered, bringing her extraordinary talent and story back into the spotlight.

Now 28, Akiane Kramarik has grown into a best-selling author and philanthropist, but her journey began with that very painting. She describes her inspiration for “Prince of Peace” as coming from what she calls “visionary inspiration.” According to Akiane, this inspiration wasn’t simply an idea but a divine experience. “It comes from God. His voice is soft and lovely,” she said in reflection on the work that has captured the attention of many.

Raised in a Non-Religious Household

One of the most surprising aspects of Akiane’s story is that she wasn’t raised in a religious environment. Growing up in a non-religious household in Idaho, she and her family didn’t attend church or talk about God. Her sudden spiritual awakening was an unexpected shift, even to her family. Her mother, Forelli Kramarik, was astonished, saying, “We didn’t attend church, pray together, or talk about God.”

This spiritual calling led Akiane to create one of her most well-known works. She describes how her inspiration for Jesus came from a vision of a carpenter. “I spent a long time looking for a model of [Jesus],” she said. After days of searching and praying, a carpenter who resembled Jesus knocked on their door. Akiane immediately recognized him as the figure from her vision, telling her mother, “That was him.”

The Long Journey of “Prince of Peace”

While the painting was created when Akiane was only 8, its journey has been anything but straightforward. After its creation, “Prince of Peace” was stolen, mistakenly sold, and kept hidden for over a decade. The painting’s disappearance led to years of legal battles, but Akiane remained steadfast in her desire to recover it.

Finally, after 16 long years, Akiane successfully regained ownership of the painting. She later sold it to a private collector, and today, “Prince of Peace” can be viewed at the Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas.

Reflecting on the return of her beloved painting, Akiane shared, “It’s still surreal to me… Love is incredibly potent.” Her words capture the deep connection she feels not only to her art but to the message of love that continues to shine through it.

A Life Devoted to Art and Inspiration

Over the years, Akiane’s unique gift has garnered widespread attention. From a young girl with a powerful vision to an accomplished artist and philanthropist, her story is one of perseverance, faith, and creativity. Her works are celebrated worldwide, and her journey continues to inspire countless people.

Though “Prince of Peace” stands as her most iconic piece, it is just one part of her larger body of work, which reflects her deep spiritual experiences and artistic talent. Whether seen through the eyes of faith or admired for its technical brilliance, Akiane’s work resonates with people from all walks of life.
