One day, a woman came home to find a golden retriever waiting at her door. It was clear the dog wasn’t a stray; he was well-groomed, healthy, and had a collar. Without hesitation, the dog walked into her house, lay down on the carpet near the door, and immediately fell asleep. After a good rest, he gently got up, headed for the door, and left as quietly as he came.
The next day, the dog returned. Once again, he greeted the woman, walked inside, found his spot on the carpet, and drifted off to sleep. This routine continued for several days. Intrigued, the woman wondered about the dog’s strange behavior. Why would this seemingly well-cared-for dog come to her house just to nap?
Curiosity getting the best of her, she decided to do a little detective work. The dog seemed to have a loving home, but something was definitely unusual about his repeated visits. One day, she decided to attach a note to his collar. She wrote, “I would love to know who owns this lovely dog. Are you aware that he visits my home every day, takes a nap for a few hours, and then leaves?”
The following day, the dog came back with a reply attached to his collar. The message read:
“Thank you for letting him rest at your home. He lives in a house with six children, the youngest being just under three years old. He’s simply looking for a quiet place to catch up on some sleep. Would it be alright if he continued visiting?”
The woman couldn’t help but smile at the response. It turned out that the poor dog was just trying to find a peaceful corner to rest. The noise and chaos of a home filled with young kids made it nearly impossible for him to get the sleep he needed. So, he chose the woman’s quiet, welcoming house as his go-to nap spot.
From that day on, she happily welcomed her sleepy visitor, understanding that all he needed was a bit of peace. The woman found joy in knowing that her home provided a haven for this tired pup. And thus, the golden retriever’s daily naps at her place continued, bringing a smile to her face every time he showed up for his well-deserved rest.
